The village is everything you can imagine and more. The unique architectural character is almost reminiscent of the white facade of Santorini, yet so authentically Chinese. Stepping into Lu Jia you instantly feel like home. Passing through the tilled streets, you are welcomed by the villagers offering local delicacies from freshly squeezed orange juice to tofu prepared right in front of you. Each little street offers a variety of local restaurants and few souvenir shops. Each alley opens up to a mountain view.

When strolling through Lu Jia, it’s like visiting a home of a friendly Chinese villager as the life in Lu Jia happens outside. Locals gather around small tables to play card games. Families dine together under large umbrellas and children play joyfully in each corner of the village.

  7. Hi, saw this amazing post and it really did help me with my travel plans to Guilin. However it will be wonderful if you can help me with some information.
    1) How long is the walk from Lujia Village to Reed Flute Cave?
    2) Is it better to take a public bus to Lujia Village or to take a taxi (and the rough cost)

    The walk from Lujia Village to Reed Flute Cave is about 10-15 min passing through amazing scenery, around the lake all the way to Reed Fulte. You will love it.

    We have not taken a bus to Lujia, but the taxi is a very short ride and cost is only about $5. Have fun!
