About Us:

Quantum-Systems is at the forefront of autonomous, AI-powered aerial robotics globally. Our Australian subsidiary, Quantum-Systems Australia, operates in the Defence, Security, and Commercial markets, specialising in Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAS) in the Asia-Pacific region.

Summary:

Our Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems. They will work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical design specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with programming languages such as C++, and possess good analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Integration of new AI algorithms (e.g. Object detection) onto our Jetson based embedded platform
• Development of sensor control features (e.g. automatic scanning)
• Implementation of data flows on the air and between air and ground
• Conduct systematic analysis and risk assessment, implementing strategies to mitigate potential obstacles and ensure success.
• Fault finding and issue tracking in production and maintenance
• Develop and execute software integration and test plans
• Actively engage in the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies and methodologies to continually refine engineering processes and introduce product innovations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

• Tertiary degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Software Engineer ideally within the UAS or aerospace sector
• Australian Citizenship and ability to hold a Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in embedded C++, C#
• Experience in Docker and ROS2
• Experience in Linux environment
• Knowledge in embedded deployment
• Knowledge of WPF, XAML, QT, QML
• Basic knowledge of communication protocols (HTTP, UDP/TCP, MAVLink)

Desired

• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson boards
• Video Encoding
• Extensive knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements within the aerospace domain
