Job Overview

We are seeking a committed HR Generalist to join our dynamic team and provide essential support to the Director of HR. The successful candidate will bring 3-5+ years of progressive human resources experience, along with a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices. This remote position focuses predominantly on recruitment and onboarding of new hires, while also engaging in various HR functions such as employee relations, performance management, training, workers’ compensation, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete recruitment cycle, working in partnership with hiring supervisors to accurately identify needs and design tailored strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive new employee orientations to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, managing issues with confidentiality and promoting effective communication between employees and management.
  • Assist supervisors with goal setting, performance assessments, and development plans.
  • Evaluate training requirements and contribute to the development of programs aimed at enhancing employee skills.
  • Oversee claims administration related to workers’ compensation, liaising with employees, management, and healthcare providers while ensuring compliance and workplace safety.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining meticulous records and supporting audit processes.
  • Facilitate the development and enforcement of HR policies, providing guidance to employees and supervisors as necessary.
  • Manage daily HR operations, generating reports and analyzing HR data to support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles and employment regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence with a sense of urgency in addressing HR matters.
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS/ATS software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with 12-Step programs and philosophy is an advantage but not required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in HR, emphasizing recruitment and generalist functions.
