Egis with its partner Gadish (altogether called METAV) have been appointed as Network Manager in 2022, to work closely with the client, National Transport Authority, in managing the planning, design and construction of 3 new underground metro lines in Tel Aviv and the Gush Dan region. The 3 new metro lines will total 150km and 109 underground metro stations to serve 24 municipalities. Key figures:
- Estimated 2 million passengers per day will benefit from the new metro network.
- €50bn estimated cost.
- Benefits to Tel Aviv Area : 30% increase in public transport use and €8bn in economic benefits to the local economy.
This giga-project requires a Procurement Manager to join the expanding procurement team under the leadership of the Head of Procurement. You will undertake procurement activities within the team of 80 engineers of METAV.
Job Description
- Has a decisive action on the procurement strategy from development to delivery (construction phases) including all the tasks to be performed by all the consultants, contractors, financial and industrial partners.
- Pilot the Line Managers (the Designers) for all topics relevant to procurement, commercial issues and contract management.
- Establish new Contract Management and Procurement procedures and processes on behalf of the Owner.
- Develops methods of dialog with the Owner and with the candidates for the several types of contracts
- Assists the Lead Procurement Manager in managing the staff of the procurement team (5 members)
- Closely work with the Owner’s procurement and contract management team.
Qualifications
The candidate should have:
- At least 15 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects including metro / mass transit.
- In-depth knowledge of metro / mass transit.
- Good knowledge of the various procurement strategies used to deliver rail projects.
- Good knowledge in contract management and procurement processes
- Ability to lead and direct project teams.
- Capacity to anticipate and make decisions
- Ability to analyze complex situations and interface with others.
- Authority to manage and interact with stakeholders and the client.
