Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Public Relations to support the CEO exclusively, enhancing the CEO’s public relations and media strategy. This role is essential in positioning the CEO as a leading corporate governance figurehead, driving visibility for governance best practices, and executing impactful media and communication initiatives. The position combines thought leadership, strategic PR, and crisis communication, ensuring the CEO’s voice is consistently represented in high-profile forums.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Media Relations and Coverage:
o Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets across multiple channels.
o Draft and distribute press releases, thought leadership content and other materials to elevate the CEO’s profile in governance.
o Pitch relevant story ideas, manage interviews, and secure media opportunities to enhance brand exposure.
2. Content Creation and Messaging:
o Develop high-quality content that reflects the CEO’s voice and industry expertise, including press releases, blog posts, etc.
o Work with the CEO to produce thought leadership pieces, white papers, and long-form articles on key governance topics.
o Maintain consistent messaging across all communications that align with the company’s values.
3. Crisis and Reputation Management:
o Develop and execute crisis communication plans and manage responses to potential issues to protect the CEO’s and brand’s reputation.
o Monitor brand and CEO mentions, addressing any issues proactively..
o Advise the CEO and leadership on effective crisis management strategies.
4. Social Media Management:
o Oversee and manage the CEO’s social media presence, creating engaging content and monitoring performance.
o Track analytics and trends to refine strategies and improve engagement on governance topics.
5. Influencer and Partnership Engagement:
o Identify key influencers and potential partners to expand reach in governance and corporate sectors.
o Coordinate collaborative projects, partnerships, and other engagement opportunities.
6. Event Coordination:
o Plan and promote events for the CEO with the support of her EA, including speaking engagements, panels, and other public forums.
o Coordinate with media to maximise event visibility and follow-up.
7. Analytics and Reporting:
o Analyse the performance of PR and media campaigns, providing reports on engagement and sentiment.
o Conduct competitor analysis and monitor media trends to refine PR strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a PR or Communications role with a focus on executive support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and articulate complex concepts clearly.
- Strong media connections and a track record of securing media placements.
- Experience with social media management and analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
