PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Regional Vice President, Digital Health Systems, this position is accountable for the overall project management activities, functions and effectiveness of those projects overseen by the Regional Lumeo Operating Team on behalf of the regional partners. Project Management oversight will include typical project delivery tasks, including the planning of new efforts and optimizations, tracking of risks, issues, and decisions, and management to those plans for roadmap initiatives. Provides leadership to operations team using PMO methodology, governance, process, structure, training and certification to improve the consistency and efficiency of the regional team’s project delivery, status reporting, and supports staff to oversee the applicable regional efforts.
Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Regional Health Information System (RHIS) strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Accountable for project management best practices to support successful outcomes of the regional team’s complex regional projects/programs, through staff oversight, financial management of assigned resources, and monitoring of multiple active regional optimizations, projects, and roadmap planning.
- Accountable for direct concurrent oversight of multiple small-medium scale projects during implementation and the resource planning, projections, and management of upcoming medium to large-scale projects.
- Accountable for the tracking, monitoring, and performance of the project portfolios, including operational performance, ensuring the Regional Steering Committees, Executive Council, partner Board are provided with appropriate reporting metrics.
- Maintain effective, productive and professional working relationships with partner organization leaders and operational staff, external partners and agencies such as the contracted services, vendor, other hospital/health care facilities, Ontario Health, OntarioMD.
- Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with internal and regional leadership to provide necessary coaching, training and support to enable the Regional Lumeo Operating Team’s project management capability and improve project delivery.
- Accountable for the establishment and achievement of objectives for the project management operations in accordance with the vision, mission, values and goals of Regional Health Information System initiative.
- Accountable for the ongoing strategic and operational plan of the regional project management functions through interaction with peers across public and private funded similar organizations, and attendance at conferences; research into project management trends; and communication with key regional partner staff. These activities identify industry trends and best practices in project management that either impact performance or identify new methodologies that should be included in regional project management practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a university degree or equivalent
- 7-10 years of extensive position related experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation as certified by the Project Management Institute (or equivalent)
- Project planning and management theory, methods, techniques, standards and best practices related to all phases of a project life cycle as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- Leadership skills to guide the work of project staff and teams.
- Communication, consultation, negotiation and mediation skills.
- Persuasion, advisory, and relationship management skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Change management principles and techniques to facilitate business process change,
- Resource management approaches and strategies, including financial management to develop and manage project budgets.
- Project and portfolio management tools and applicable software (i.e. Microsoft Project).
- Satisfactory criminal background check with vulnerable sector search
- Preference for experience in Oracle Health (Cerner) projects or digital transformation projects across multiple organizations.
