Role Overview:

We are seeking talented Backend Engineers to join this dynamic team. You will be instrumental in building and refining robust services with a strong focus on scalability and maintainability. This role offers a unique opportunity to redefine the credit card experience and revamp system architecture to deliver an exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test and maintain robust backend systems for our platform
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to integrate features and ensure seamless user experiences
• Design and implement scalable APIs and services to support platform functionality
• Optimize application performance, security and scalability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in production environments

Technical Environment:

• Backend Services: Spring Boot (Java 11/Spring Boot 2, Java 17/Spring Boot 3), Java EE legacy systems, JUnit, Mockito, AWS ECS, AWS CodePipeline
• Infrastructure: AWS, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch
• Development Tools: GitHub, IntelliJ, Gradle
• Project Management: Confluence, Miro, JIRA
• Communication: Slack, Zoom, Office 365

Qualifications:

• Professional experience with Spring Boot, Java, AWS (+5 years)
• Proficiency with RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and distributed cache.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• English business proficiency.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub Systems, Database Clients.
• Expertise in system design for high-traffic applications.
• Proficiency in microservices & event-driven architecture.
• Experience in a multicultural setting.
• Conversational Japanese is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Status: Full-Time
• Location: Fully remote (flexible to live anywhere in Japan)
• Hours: Super Flex Time (Core Time: 12:00pm 3:00pm JST); Generally 9:00am 5:30pm
• Holidays: Every Sat/Sun/National holidays, New Year’s break, and company-designated special days
• Leave: Up to 16 days of annual leave in the first year (proportional to the month of employment)
