Sr Consultant Mainframe System Programmer (Remote)

Overview:

Seeking a Sr Professional Consultant responsible to provide subject-matter expertise, adoption guidance and solution/technical specialization on a Mainframe architecture. The candidate will assist with the installation of Telemetry tools using SMP/e. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of Mainframes and a working knowledge in containerization, Kubernetes, and other DevOps tools is crucial for this role. The successful candidate should possess a strong willingness to learn emerging technologies including Zowe (API ML, CLI and installing Zowe in z/OS) including the willingness to learn new software enhancements as they are made available.

Primary Function:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Installation, configuration, and support an advanced multi-platform observability product that consumes data from a variety of sources.

Integration of mainframe and distributed platform software.

Diagnostics analysis within the software and the platforms where they exist.

Technical Skills and Experience:

• 60 months of experience in software integration on Mainframe systems.
• 60+ months experience of Installation and configuration of Dev/Ops software. Knowledge of GiT or other such source control systems.
• 60+ months experience of support and administration on Dev/Ops software, Management and building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline automation tools.
• Some experience of integration of software into a Distributed and Mainframe environment.
• Experience with Application Program Interface implementation and support.
• Experience with container usage in a computing platform
• Experience with certificates, TLS, working with SAF keyrings, and debugging TLS errors.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of a given computing platform and relevant marketplace; can speak with authority, e.g., on trends, best practices, compliance practices, etc.

People and Communication Skills:

• Ability to listen to client requirements and organize them into a list of business needs and objectives
• Ability to provide written communication back to the project manager and customer regarding build and integrate instructions, assigned task status, and ability to communicate through channels such as knowledge transfer instructions to run the solution after implementation is complete.
• Ability to follow a communication plan established by the project manager
• Ability to document clearly all the aspects listed above and ability to clearly communicate in writing project statuses, task status and communicate in writing build and integration results.
• Desire to learn emerging technologies including (API ML, CLI and installing in z/OS) and apply them to customer environments.

Key Requirements:

A senior consultant will have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT. Minimum Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Ten years of IT experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement.

Compensation And Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,0000 – $135,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
