Specifically within Commercial Risk Solutions we offer risk advisory, risk transfer and structured solutions that help organisations and individuals identify, quantify and manage their risk exposure through insurance.

Responsibilities Of This Role

This role will provide the candidate an opportunity to work as part of a global engineering function and within an Agile Product Delivery team. Specifically, this role is focussed on delivering integrations for that will drive business processing across our Commercial Risk Ecosystem. The role will also be responsible for delivering low-code solutions using iPaaS technology for data interfaces within and beyond Aon including real-time and batch feeds.

Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

  • Design and build recipes/flows and general job orchestration for integrating applications in a low-code development environment (iPaaS).
  • Complete technical data mapping between source and target applications, adhering to and extending Aon common data standards.
  • Contributing to Agile Scrum meetings to groom requirements, defining user stories, deliver, test and deploy.
  • Implementation of automated deployments through Dev, Test and Prod lifecycles
  • Taking personal responsibility for solution delivery quality, deployment, and supporting automated and manual testing between applications.
  • Technical specifications covering both solution design and operating procedures for support teams to follow.
  • Engaging with colleagues across cross-functional Agile teams and in multiple countries to ensure successful delivery and transition to operations.
  • L2-L4 support for integrations in production, following best-of-breed ITIL Service Management principles.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

  • 5-10 years experience in similar engineering roles building integrations between systems, with specific focus on secure enterprise-grade solutions that drive business processing.
  • Experience in integration platform-as-a-service offerings (iPaaS), ideally Workato, but alternatively StreamSets, Talend, FiveTran, SSIS etc.
  • Experience in data mapping and analysis, interface specifications and data job design.
  • Strong experience in many integration endpoints including RESTful APIs, RDBMS (SQL, Oracle etc.), SFTP, Cloud storage.
  • Experience in designing and implementing API REST swagger definitions for endpoint/payload design, API security, monitoring and management etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python/Ruby, Javascript and any declarative programming for data mapping e.g. Scriban, XSL.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud incl. Azure APIm, Azure Functions, container-based applications.
  • Some experience with python in Databricks and virtual warehousing is a plus.
  • Agile knowledge – Scrum, Kanban, TDD and other practices.
  • Experience in commercial insurance industry a plus.
  • College degree in IT-related discipline.
