    We are a team of skilled, passionate, and genuinely good people, eager to welcome the right individual into the IER family. You will be based in our head office in Melbourne but will also be liaising with our team in Newcastle.

    Role Overview: 

    We are seeking a highly organised person, with strong people management skills to lead and oversee field research projects. You will collaborate closely with our team of consultants, receiving detailed briefs and expert guidance to support your work. As the key link between our consultants and our casual staff collecting data in the field, you’ll ensure smooth operations and timely execution of projects, maintaining high standards of efficiency and communication. 

    This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing people, processes, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. If you can maintain composure, are adaptable to shifting priorities, and work well both independently and as part of a team, we’d love to hear from you!

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage Field Research Staff: In collaboration with our consultants, you will be required to recruit, train and schedule staff. The supervision of casual staff throughout Australia, ensuring smooth on-site operations – from either on-site, or remotely depending on the event location and requirement – is a responsibility you will share with the team.
    • Equipment Management: Oversee an inventory system for research equipment, ensuring timely distribution and reporting of equipment needs.
    • Liaison with Casual Staff Networks: provide staff briefings, gather feedback, and build strong relationships with research staff and labour hire companies.
    • Additional Tasks: Participate in client meetings where required, support post-event reporting, and work closely with senior management and consultants.
    • Ad-hoc Tasks: you may be required to assist team members with other ad-hoc tasks.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
    • Ability to stay calm and adapt to evolving tasks and priorities.
    • Proven experience in a people management role.
    • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team motivation and support.
    • Positive and proactive, with a high work ethic
    • Skilled at optimizing internal processes specific to the role, with a strong interest in improving efficiency and streamlining workflows
    • Experience with Microsoft 365; Adobe, InDesign and/or HR technologies experience are a plus.
    • Willingness to travel and attend events as required.
