The Role
Reporting to the Business Development Director for Fleet Solutions, this role will focus on developing new business for SmartDrive, RNA and eDriving across the UK. There will be a combination of direct sales, partner sales, VARs and resellers. The role will entail discovery, pitching and sales closing; interfacing at all levels within a target customer’s organization. Maintaining the business development activities on Sales Force CRM to provide a clear view of the sales pipeline.
What You’ll Do
Identifying new business opportunities, including new market sectors, new clients, new resellers, new partnerships or new products and services
Helping to create & execute strategies to successfully develop new business opportunities
Building relationships with new clients, assessing their needs and developing proposals to address their needs
Maintaining and developing relationships with clients
Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients
Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners
Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them
Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competition in the industry and positioning
Use CRM system to record and manage all sales activities
Collobrating with marketing, product, sales enablement and technical colleagues to enhance the customer experience
What You’ll Bring
Relationship-building is key – Business development is all about cultivating strong relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues. Your ability to build rapport and establish trust with others, whether it’s through networking events, cold calls, or digital outreach.
Need to have effective communication, especially when it comes to sales pitches, negotiating deals and closing sales. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced business environment, things can change quickly. Should have the ability to adapt to new situations, pivot when needed, and stay calm under pressure.
As a business development professional, you’ll need to have the ability to think strategically about opportunities for growth and expansion. Demonstrate skills to analyse market trends, identify potential clients, and develop innovative solutions to business challenges.
Business development can be a competitive and challenging field, and it’s not uncommon to face rejection or setbacks; your resilience and determination to bounce back from disappointments and stay focused on your goals is important.
