Our exclusive partnership with PokerStars (the world’s largest poker site) has propelled our debut game (PokerStars VR) to becoming one of the most popular multiplayer games in VR.

Role Description
We’re looking for a highly talented and versatile Character Artist to join our small and dedicated team. You will be working with highly technical people to set the standards for a new generation of characters at Lucky VR. You will iterate to find the best bang for the buck regarding quality versus asset specifications (performance) and also iterate to develop the art direction. You should have a passion to establish the baseline and specifications all other character artists or 3rd party will use.
Responsibilities
- Establish technical specifications (asset build budgets) and set standards for all other character modelers.
- Define character production pipeline including tools.
- Develop new characters that fit within conceptual designs or brief guidelines, technical parameters, and production goals.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of 3DSMax/Maya/Blender, Photoshop, ZBrush or Mudbox, Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter.
- Excellent knowledge of real-time modeling techniques (shaders, PBR, normal, displacement etc.)
- Strong character art focused portfolio showing 3D art skills and demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity.
- Ability to be receptive to art direction and constructive feedback from project art leads.
- Good communication skills.
- Deep understanding of asset optimization challenges/techniques in a shipped product.
- Able to work independently as well as collaborate with others.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.
- Ability to onboard and work remotely.
- Hands on experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong background in AR or VR.
- Other relevant skills such as environmental, VFX, graphic design, concepting/2D skills etc.
- Experience with Perforce and/or Git.
- Experience owning and shipping store assets across various platforms (e.g., iOS, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and VR).
