Content Marketing Manager | Firebrand Communications | United States
Firebrand helps startups crush their marketing goals. We are a specialist PR and marketing firm for tech startups. Based in San Francisco, Firebrand’s integrated public relations, content marketing, demand generation and digital marketing programs help startups outshine their competitors. Our experienced team combines domain expertise, marketing best-practice, operational efficiency and the x-factor to implement winning campaigns.
You can expect an entrepreneurial culture, to work directly with a senior team, to be strategic and hands-on, and to help build a fantastic firm. We have no politics, no bureaucracy, efficient systems, and a supportive approach. We focus on great work, high levels of client service, and expanding our skills.
We work with a roster of hand-picked startups that are leaders in their field and backed by prominent VCs including a16z, First Round, GV, Initialized, LightSpeed, Menlo Ventures, TPG and Unusual VC. Our clients are technology startups – primarily with complex propositions that need clear positioning and messaging. At present, clients are in sectors such as AI/ML, infrastructure, fintech, cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS and future of work
About the role
We’re looking for a Content Marketing Manager with B2B agency experience developing and executing content strategies, managing clients, and consistently delivering results.
You are a creative go-getter – but you also know how to analyze the results of your efforts in GA4 and CRMs (primarily HubSpot). You have a strong understanding of the B2B buying journey and how to engage target personas at each stage. You have a passion for all things content, and not just the written word. You are excited about how video, visual, audio, and interactive content can all play a role in successful content campaigns. You are also excited to treat Firebrand’s marketing as a client and support efforts to grow our brand.
You have strong tech chops and can quickly get up to speed on what highly technical clients do and what makes their products and services valuable. You are comfortable making strategic recommendations to clients (and breaking things down for stakeholders who aren’t content experts), advising on best practices, and comparing their campaign performance to benchmarks.
The role reports to the Vice President of Content Marketing and is part of a senior marketing team well-versed in content marketing, PR, and digital marketing. Most of our campaigns are integrated so you’ll get plenty of exposure to other disciplines. Other members of the team include content developers, SEOs, graphic designers, and paid media experts. We’re not split into a classic agency structure with account management or creatives. Everyone works directly with our clients and well… we’re all creative.
We expect you to have a proven track record of managing successful content marketing campaigns for multiple clients. The role will include developing and optimizing campaigns across a diverse portfolio of clients, defining and implementing best practices, participating in new business, analyzing engagement data, and handling day-to-day tactics.
Responsibilities
- Client management — work directly with clients on a daily basis advising on strategy, status, and performance of content marketing campaigns.
- Content strategy — strategize and execute campaigns from ideation to iteration.
- Content creation — develop content that aligns with clients’ value propositions and differentiators, in a variety of formats.
- Lead nurturing — develop and reinforce relationships with leads at every stage of the funnel by providing the information and answers they need to build trust, and maintain a connection until prospects are ready to make a purchase.
- Reporting — reporting primarily based on custom-built dashboards to show the impact of content marketing campaigns. This includes website metrics (GA4) all the way through to CRM metrics (primarily HubSpot).
- Agency — involved in new business prospecting and pitching; team management and collaboration; developing demand generation methodologies; Firebrand ambassador.
