Job Summary

The Deputy Project Manager will assist in overseeing and managing the Agile Release Train (ART) processes and project delivery across multiple teams. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution of program increments, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, project management, and a passion for fostering collaboration and efficiency within a technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Release Train Engineer (RTE) in managing and optimizing the flow of value through the ART using various tools and methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum.
  • Contribute to the facilitation of PI (Planning Increment) Planning events, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic priorities.
  • Support teams in the ART in meeting their delivery commitments, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, including business owners, product management, developers, quality assurance, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure that the ART operates smoothly and efficiently, adhering to Agile principles and practices.
  • Track and manage key metrics to monitor performance, identify trends, and suggest improvements.
  • Help manage risks, dependencies, and issues, escalating them appropriately.
  • Support the RTE in preparing and conducting Agile ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Ensure transparency into the ART’s work, progress, and challenges through effective reporting and communication.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance team capabilities and knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management or a related role within an Agile framework.
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management principles.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and Agile ceremonies effectively.
  • Proficient in Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Rally).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified SAFe Agilist (SA), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant Agile certifications.
  • Experience in a scaled Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
