• Min 3 years recent expertise as an electrical engineer

• Hands-on experience using design and calculation software.

• Planning and delivering projects to high standards.

• Delivering electrical engineering design and or related solutions

• Prepare technical documentation and reports

• Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering.

• Proficient in excel and office suite.

• Awareness and basic knowledge of electrical and other relevant standards relating utilities and private electrical infrastructure.

• Aware of and developing knowledge of energy market rules and regulation under National and State frameworks.

• Familiar with electrical design elements and technologies involved in renewable generation and grid / utility infrastructure.

The Electrical Engineer will be assigned to various client projects predominantly relating to energy, electrical, generation and utility engineering as well as well as from time to time on other general business and project support tasks. The Electrical Engineer is expected to continue their professional development and learning by staying informed and up to date with industry developments in energy technology, utility engineering, related standards and industry developments. Further, seeking formal training, events and self development opportunities supported by NEN. The Electrical Engineer will seek support and take guidance from more senior staff when preparing client deliverables and will always aim for high standards of presentation and quality of deliverables. Assigned tasks will vary in their nature so as to meet business needs. The Electrical Engineer may be required to undertake unfamiliar tasks including in areas where their competencies are emerging and developing. In such circumstances, they shall proactively seek mentorship, guidance and where agreed formal training while still attempting the task to the best of their competency. Responsibilities shall include understanding project requirements, working with team members to devise a project plan, research, engineering design and documentation and using technical skills to complete the project effectively and efficiently. They will be proficient in the use of Office suite, drafting and engineering software, understand the principles of electrical design, and a strong ability to problem solve technical and complex challenges in accordance with project timelines and costs effectively.
