Role Overview
Your Daily Tasks Will Be Divided Roughly As Follows
We’re looking for a dynamic individual who straddles the worlds of environmental science and programming. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions that address pressing environmental issues. Your responsibilities will encompass system development, data analysis, and the maintenance of existing systems.
System Development (45%)
Collaborate in creating cloud-based environmental data management systems
Facilitate online data entry and real-time data acquisition
Design and implement web-based data visualization tools
Data Analysis (45%)
Support scientific research teams with data mining and analytics
Uncover insights from environmental datasets to inform decision-making
Existing Systems Maintenance (10%)
Ensure the upkeep of current data management systems and web applications
Tackle bug fixes, develop new features, and optimize system performance
Requirements
Must Haves
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field with a web programming course OR a degree in computer science, informatics, or related discipline
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Proficient in web development and data visualization using JavaScript
Passion for environmental science and natural resource management
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Haves
Experience with Pandas data manipulation library and Django web development framework
Familiarity with spatial data and web mapping
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Prior experience in environmental, natural resource, or wildlife data management and analysis
