Bitreel is creating interactive virtual stores for retailers, designed to run in a browser on everything from a smartphone to a virtual reality headset.

We are a small, passionate team of web developers, designers, architects, 3D and technical artists who believe we can make immersive virtual and augmented reality environments the future of online shopping as never seen before.

With us, you would be working in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team creating mind-blowing virtual worlds for some of the biggest brands in retail.

For the right candidate, this role is an amazing opportunity for a Senior Frontend Developer to grow and develop new skills in cutting-edge web technologies.

The Senior Frontend Developer will work on the client-facing parts of our platform, including our Content Management System (CMS) and advanced 3D experiences in the browser.

Preferred Skills

• Strong React experience (hooks, context, best practices)
• WebGL expertise with libraries such as Babylon.js, Three.js, or React Three Fiber
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and best practices
• Version control (Git)
• Basic understanding of containerization (Docker), CI/CD
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration patterns
• Ability to work in a Linux-based environment
• Experience with performance optimization, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design
• Flexibility, ability to be self-sufficient, and an aptitude/willingness to learn

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the frontend of our Content Management System (CMS), ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience
• Implement immersive 3D experiences within a browser environment using WebGL frameworks (Babylon.js, Three.js, React Three Fiber)
• Collaborate closely with our 3D/technical artists to optimize visual fidelity and performance
• Ensure robust performance across different devices (mobile, desktop, and VR headsets) and browsers
• Work with our backend/data teams to integrate new features and refine existing ones
• Contribute to UI/UX discussions and help shape the look and feel of our virtual store experiences
• Identify and troubleshoot front-end issues, optimizing code for speed, scalability, and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and help mentor more junior developers

This is a full-time, remote role based, working with an international team across the globe. Annual compensation starts at $50K.
