Actalent is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to fill the roleof Transmission Line Engineering Group Manager . Thisposition will report to the Division Leader of Transmission andDistribution Lines in the Power Delivery Engineering Business Sector. Theideal candidate’s duties will consist of electric transmission linedesign, overall project management, client interaction, proposalpreparation, technical guidance/training of staff, design reviews,scheduling, staffing, invoicing, budget control, QA/QC enforcement, andbusiness development related to all aspects of electrical transmissiondesign services.This position will be performed remotely but connectedto the Pennsylvania office and will be eligible for a sign-on bonus.The Group Manager of Transmission Line Engineering will be assigned to30% project management, 25% technical responsibilities, 25% supervisory,and 20% business development.Project Management Responsibilities- management of assignedprojects, including responsibility for delivering scope, schedule, budget,quality, safety, and profitability:Directly manages projects with no limit to the number or value ofindividual projects managed.Coordinates and develops proposed scope, schedule, and fee for projectsmanaged.Demonstrates mastery of fundamental project management skills and useof PM advanced techniques and practices to increase productivity,efficiency, and accuracy.Works closely with Project Controls/Accounting staff to monitor andcontrol project cost and billings to meet budget profit, analyze projectperformance data on an ongoing basis, and develop recovery plans as needed.Technical Responsibilities- engineering design, drawingcreation, development of bills of material, permit development, andQA/QC:Implements effective engineering methods, provides technical guidance,and acts as a resource for engineers and designers.Performs complex tasks and will have some latitude for determiningappropriate processes to follow.Business Development Responsibilities- developing relationshipsobtaining new work with existing clients, and presenting capabilities topotential clients:Serves as primary client contact for projects managed and actively winsnew work from both new and existing clients by building and maintainingcustomer relationships, monitoring future work opportunities, communicatingregularly, and attending client events.Supervisory Responsibilities- directly and indirectly,supervising the transmission lines’ technical staff:Supervises, develops and manages the career path of direct reports,including performance and compensation reviews.Administers policies and procedures and evaluates results andperformance for direct reports.Trains, coaches, leads, and directs the work of designers, engineers,task managers, PMs, supervisors, and managers.Develops, implements, maintains, and manages group processes, includingbut not limited to, QMS and resource planning.Manages the productivity of the group, meeting the needs of clientswhile also meeting GAI’s performance and profitability goals.Requirements:PE LicenseMinimum 8 years of experience in utilities industryExpert in PLS-CADDBachelor or Masters in Engineering- Civil, Electrical, or MechanicalAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciencesservices and talent solutions.
