We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer who has a passion for creating intuitive and user-friendly experiences to help us shape the future of our product and the quality of life of our users.
Care1 is a revenue-generating medical AI and technology company that is changing the way eye doctors think about patient care.
Our cloud-based software connects eye doctors (ophthalmologists and optometrists) allowing them to screen, diagnose, and treat patients remotely. We also implement deep learning AI models for the automatic detection and treatment of complex eyecare diseases. Over the past decade we have grown Care1 to integrate with over 200 eye doctors across Canada, who have used our platform to deliver care to over 150,000 patients. This makes the Care1 network one of the largest teleophthalmology networks worldwide.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with the senior designer to drive the UX design process on a variety of parallel projects from concept to final implementation, ensuring a user-centered approach.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all internal and external stakeholders to create intuitive, user-friendly experiences with our software.
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and gather feedback.
- Work with other designers on the team to ensure Figma designs are on point with the intended UX.
- Analyze user feedback and behavior to iterate on designs and improve the overall UX.
- Work closely with the product development team to address usability issues and ensure a consistent design language across the application.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, integrating new approaches and technologies into our UX design processes.
Qualifications/Experience – Required:
- 2+ FT equivalent years creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups in product design with a portfolio showcasing your work.
- 2+ FT equivalent years working primarily as a Product Designer.
- 2+ FT equivalent years working directly with customers, conducting user research and applying insights to design decisions.
- 1+ FT equivalent years using UX prototyping tools.
- Strong ability to communicate to product team members the user-centered design principles and best practices driving your design suggestions.
- Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Based in Canada.
Qualifications/Experience – Nice to Have: :
- Formal academic study of UX design principles and practices.
- Experience working in an in-house Agile environment.
- Experience in health care based designs.
- Experience with embedding metrics into designs in order to measure and track user behavior.
- Experience in using and contributing to design system
- Ability to work with Figma.
- Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and ability to code CSS.
Position Details:
- This position is FT (40 hours per week)
- Position is 100% remote, work from home
