Position Overview The Lead Designer for will be at the forefront of creating a compelling and immersive game experience. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of Wuxia culture and game design principles. The Lead Designer will guide the creative and technical aspects of the game’s development, ensuring that the gameplay, mechanics, and storytelling are seamlessly integrated to create a world that resonates with players. Key Responsibilities Creative Vision: Develop and articulate the overall creative direction for 9 Yin Sutra, ensuring alignment with the Wuxia genre and the games thematic elements. Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team of designers, including level designers, UI/UX designers, and narrative designers, to bring the games vision to life. Game Design: Oversee the design of gameplay systems, mechanics, and features that enhance player engagement and experience. Ensure that the game is balanced, fun, and challenging. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including art, programming, and production, to ensure a cohesive development process. Iteration & Feedback: Implement a continuous feedback loop, utilizing playtesting and player feedback to refine and improve game elements throughout the development cycle. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed design documents, ensuring all team members have a clear understanding of the game’s design principles and mechanics. Qualifications Experience: At least 7 years of experience in game design, with a minimum of 3 years in a lead design role. Experience with Wuxia games or other culturally specific genres is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in game design software such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of game balancing, level design, and user experience. Cultural Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Wuxia culture, literature, and history, and the ability to incorporate these elements authentically into game design. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex design concepts to a multidisciplinary team. Salary Range $100,000 – $150,000 per year Salary is dependent on experience and includes performance-based bonuses tied to project milestones and overall success.
