The Manager, Risk Adjustment will focus on creating and executing on innovative product / solution ideas ­ with a relentless focus on quality, process, repeatability, effectiveness, and efficiency. Candidates need to bring strong, engineering-oriented thinking with the right mix of communication, analytical and leadership skills. Candidates will work with cross-functional teams to build and roll­out solutions that deliver value to the firm’s clients. This person will report to the President and is a crucial member of the team that leads the company. The Client Advisory/Risk Adjustment team will report to this individual, with a dotted line to Business Development and Client Advisory.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for solution, analytics and strategic delivery to Clients related to assigned projects
  • Support Convey’s clients in achieving their strategic goals through use of our solutions and healthcare business knowledge
  • Listen to the market’s business problems and develop / enhance product portfolio in pursuit of broad market opportunities
  • Understand our business and the marketplace to innovate and build new offerings
  • Ensure the success of projects, serving as the key business line liaison to both clients and internal teams, monitoring the progress of the project, providing oversight, education and guidance, and performing client-facing work, including robust deliverables
  • Serve as a central point of contact to oversee all phases of a project, including project design, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing to ensure all projects – whether directly managing or providing oversight
  • Build strong client and internal relationships, completing regular client and stakeholders’ check-ins, reviewing status reports, providing recommendations and best practices, and identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders while serving as an escalation path for managing concerns or issues, which may occur through collaboration or referral to the appropriate department or position
  • Working with Pareto Business Development and Consulting teams on sales enablement activities, which includes client onsite presentations
  • Maintain industry exposure through industry group meetings and other forums
  • Provide market intelligence through client strategic discussions and/or research on healthcare-related topics, while ensuring new learnings are incorporated into standard methodology and strategy Work on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested
  • Partner with Advisory Services leadership to support the overall performance of the service line; supporting service line vision and initiatives, establishing goals, and reporting achievement progress

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field. An advanced degree in business, IT or healthcare is preferred
  • 5+ years of healthcare consulting management and, with at least three years of leading cross-functional teams. Healthcare experience is required, with an emphasis on payor, specifically Risk Adjustment section is required
  • Client facing experience is a must
  • Practical understanding and experience operationalizing a team
  • Able to positively influence and engage consultants and clients, generating interest and enthusiasm for the business line
  • Solution-oriented; skilled in grasping the essentials in complex situations, anticipating client needs, and conceptualizing both problems and solutions
