The Sydney Gentle Care Clinic (SGC) is looking for a passionate and dedicated EARLY CAREER OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST to join our established and growing interdisciplinary teams of allied health clinicians in Auburn and Gladesville (Sydney NSW). This role involves providing high-quality clinical services to a diverse caseload, including client-focused assessments and therapy, equipment prescription, and home modifications.
This role involves providing high-quality clinical services to a diverse caseload, including client-focused assessments and therapy, equipment prescription, and home modification assessments. Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one and group therapy sessions, including a dynamic blend of clinic-based sessions with families, home visits, school visits, childcare visits and remote work.
- Developing and implementing individualised therapeutic treatment plans to improve activities of daily living and independence.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and providing reports to document client progress and provide recommendations for future therapeutic plans (including but not limited to initial assessment reports, ongoing progress reports, plan final reports, functional capacity assessment reports, housing suitability and home modification reports).
- Coordinating group programs, intensive therapies, one-on-one parent consultations, group workshops and community screenings.
- Frequent and transparent collaboration with families and our multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
- Working closely with and providing guidance to our occupational therapy assistants to ensure effective and consistent delivery of care.
About you:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Australian permanent residency or citizenship required
- Current and full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Eligibility for Medicare provider status
- Working rights in Australia
- Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and police check
- Current driver’s licence and your own car
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and families
- Fluency in languages other than English is desired (strong preference for Persian/Farsi/Dari and Arabic)
What we offer:
- Generous remuneration package (please note a 3-month probationary period will be enforced):
- Early graduate: $85,000 + Super
- Early career (1-3 years’ experience): $90,000 – $100,000 + Super
- Senior practitioner (4+ years): dependent on experience, offer provided post-interview
