Position – Power BI Developer – Remote (Contract)

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Power BI Developer at TechZavy. The Power BI Developer will be responsible for tasks such as data modeling, creating impactful dashboards, utilizing analytical skills, data warehousing, and Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to turn raw data into actionable insights.   At a high level, the resource will support a product team working in an agile methodology to research, analyze and propose data and visualization solutions for financial dataset. Will support the Director of Business Solutions & Continuity to develop roadmap for critical Power BI opportunities across the agency and required skills / talent to deliver on that roadmap.  

Tasks

• Design and develop visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data visualization solutions that meet their needs.
• Create and maintain documentation of data visualization processes, tools, and best practices.
• Work with data analysts to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and complies with relevant data practice requirements.
• Train and support other team members on data visualization tools and techniques.
• Design reports in accordance with Branding and Accessibility Standards.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training where it is necessary

Required

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field
• Certifications in Power BI or related technologies a plus
• Three (3) years or more experience in creating complex Power BI visualizations dashboards.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Power Query, and DAX and familiarity with SSRS
• Familiarity with all Power Platform tools to utilize in conjunction with Power BI to automate reporting. 
• Experience in producing financial reporting (profit and loss, budget reporting, etc.) 
• Successful experience working with business users from cross-functional teams to understand business needs.
• Experience working in an Agile and iterative manner releasing minimal viable product.
• Excellent communication skills and experiences with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
• Experience creating and documenting process and best practices.
