Mansfield Plumbing Products is hiring a dynamic and results-oriented Product Manager to join our innovative team. Someone with experience in the plumbing or HVAC industry is a must. This position is primarily remote with 4 to 6 trips per year to visit different regions to assess the market.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Product Development and Management

  • Propose new product development and monitor the performance of new products.
  • Lead product development efforts from conception to launch, ensuring alignment with market demands and business objectives. Collaborate with sales to ensure quota attainment.
  • Work closely with development teams to define and refine product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Review product portfolio lifecycle and make changes accordingly.
  • Supervise the administration of the assigned category portfolio (promotions, discontinuations, identification of new products, system information, excess inventory, obsolete inventory).
  • Make data-driven decisions to prioritize enhancements, updates, and new features.
  • Own product portfolio knowing all value proposition differences, pros and cons vs competitors. Build a competitor’s landscape database and update it accordingly.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to translate product vision into actionable plans and specifications.
  • Create value proposition and sales arguments for each product launch.
  • Monitor product performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

2. Pricing and Promotions

  • Define overall product positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies to effectively differentiate products in the market, ensuring the correct attribute/price ratio across the entire product range.
  • Lead the proposal of pricing changes considering market needs, brand positioning, and competitive landscape. Monitor and control the execution of pricing and discounts vs. list prices.
  • Monitor inventory levels and take marketing actions to achieve the coverage goals, as promotions and discounts. Define promotions to get rid of excess and obsolete inventories.
  • Coordinate the construction of competitive pricing matrices.
  • Follows processes and policies related to pricing as indicated by Marketing Director.

3. Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and coordination across departments.
  • Coordinate and follow up on product-related content and campaigns in collaboration with marketing communications. Build product claims and provide initial approval for photographs, artwork, communication materials, and catalogs.
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and priorities effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Understand the different business processes (purchasing, manufacturing, product development, dispatch, finance, IT) to identify growth opportunities and remove barriers to succeed in the market.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.

4. Market Research and Strategy

  • Develop the marketing plan for the assigned categories.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitors and consumers to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Assist with market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Define marketing strategies to drive product adoption, revenue growth, and market share expansion.
  • Field trips to learn pain points from plumbers and contractors to use as new product development ideas.

5. Sales, Marketing and Operations support

  • Collaborate with marketing communications to develop product messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Develop training programs for sales, customer service, rep agencies, and third parties as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, including sales revenue, market penetration, and customer satisfaction, to optimize marketing and product strategies.
  • Provide volume and prices forecast of new products to the S&OP process. Participate in the S&OP process assuring the demand and supply plans match the market needs and company profitability goals.

SKILLS AND KNOW

  • Experience in the plumbing or HVAC industry

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL

This position will be primarily remote with approximately 4 to 6 trips per year in a normal year. If you are new to the industry, we prefer 2 trips per month in the first 4 months visiting different regions to assess the market.
