Location:
Ideal candidates will be situated in the Los Angeles or San Diego regions. While we offer flexible work options, including a hybrid of in-office and remote arrangements, the necessity for onsite interactions with clients will influence our remote work policies. To maintain a cohesive team environment, we prioritize candidates within a 50-mile radius of our office locations, which include Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive technical studies and environmental documents including Biological Resource Assessments and CEQA/NEPA analyses.
- Identify ideal permitting pathways for complex projects, developing requisite technical studies and materials for applications.
- Conduct stream and wetland delineations and other essential fieldwork.
- Lead and manage intricate biological permitting projects, including those associated with the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act.
- Independently oversee medium to large-scale projects, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and regulatory bodies, ensuring efficient communication and management of project deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance to both team members and subcontractors.
- Execute quality assurance and control (QA/QC) reviews of technical documents, budgets, and timelines.
- Engage in client outreach to cultivate strong relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Develop proposals and prepare cost and schedule estimates for prospective projects.
- Participate in client interviews and deliver compelling presentations to secure project work.
Required Skills
This position is ideal for professionals with:
- At least 6 years of progressive and successful experience in environmental consulting, covering technical work, project management, and business development.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology (or a related field) from an accredited institution, or a PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- A proven ability to supervise personnel, provide effective solutions, and foster constructive relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
- Expertise in biological resource assessments (CEQA/NEPA), botanical and wildlife species surveys, wetland delineations, CRAM assessments, regulatory permitting, and compliance oversight.
- Familiarity with restoration planning, habitat management, and mitigation monitoring. Experience in utility, energy, water, or transportation projects is advantageous.
Compensation And Benefits
The compensation range for this full-time role is (84,000 – )138,000, accompanied by benefits and bonus potential. Salary offers are determined based on candidates’ skills, experience, and job-related knowledge to ensure equity and fairness.
