Position Description
The position of Regional Sales Manager will serve as an integral part of the Copperweld Power Grid sales team. Through the coordination of initiatives focused on executing strategies that drive long-term sales performance, the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a network of manufacturing representatives. Additionally, they will serve as the brand representative within a defined territory and educate the Electric Utilities, Engineering firms, contractors, developers, and Engineer Procure & Construct (EPC) communities. This position will work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure the goals and objectives of the Power Grid Product Line are successfully executed. The Regional Sales Manager will report directly to and receive strategic direction, guidance, and approvals from the President of Utilities. Travel for this position is 50%. The region for the sales position is Western USA. We prefer for the candidate to reside in this area.
WHAT we need you to do.
- Meet or exceed annual sales/EBITDA revenue goals
- High communication and relationship building skills with experience in presenting to diverse audiences.
- Develop strategy to identify and execute conversion opportunities for all accounts within defined territory
- Develop the market by creating a go-to-market strategy for identified territory with SWOT analysis by market to include plan, target accounts, and strategy for the region.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive brand awareness and specification adoption for Copperweld products within the EPC market.
- Meet and deploy business development strategies
- Identify and foster relationships with key distribution channels within defined territory to drive sales with strategic distributors.
- Create industry awareness by attending local and regional trade shows and marketing events. Where applicable, serve a speaker and/or provide technical articles within the appropriate industry communities to drive brand awareness, education, and successful adoption of Copperweld branded products
- Stay up to date on applicable industry standards
- Routinely update the Executive team with progress on current initiatives
- Other job duties as assigned
WHAT you need to possess.
- High School Diploma or GED required with Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- 5-10+ years’ experience of selling wire and cable strongly preferred
- Utility product manufacturing sales or distribution sales experience strongly preferred
- Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills
- Analytical and creative mindset, problem-solving and adaptable with high attention to detail
- Ability to plan, organize and work cross-functionally
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, Smartsheet, and experience with an ERP system strongly preferred
- CRM experience required
