About The Opportunity

Ellucian is seeking an experienced Senior Banner Human Resources Consultant to join the North American Professional Services team to lead implementations of our integrated administrative solutions for colleges and universities. The Senior Banner Human Resources Consultant will be instrumental in consulting with our customers and delivering services that provide the quickest path to institutional success with training, onboarding and deployment of Banner human resources and payroll processes with our higher education customers. The expectations for candidates to fill this role include significant experience in the areas below.

Higher education customers are transforming to modern campuses while leveraging technology and solutions to enable student success. In this mission critical role, you will partner with our customers to help enable their business office including transformation to cloud/SAAS solutions and successful adoption of these solutions.

Where you will make an impact

  • Act as a thought leader for and key contributor to our Banner Human Resources implementations, able to lead and influence client teams at all levels.
  • Provide advice and guidance on industry best practices and recommended practices for implementing Banner Human Resources in North America (US and Canada) and abroad, working with leadership and staff in colleges and universities to ensure the Banner Human Resources solution is implemented & configured to best align to institutional processes and academic and business needs.
  • Support customers in making a smooth transition from their existing human resources systems or processes, payroll applications, and procedures to Banner Human Resources processes through implementation efforts and ongoing consulting.
  • Provide change management advice as appropriate.
  • Perform and document business process review and analysis of client business requirements.
  • Gather and document business requirements, discuss adoption of Human Resources recommended practices, and brief the implementation team on requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to derive maximum value from the Banner Human Resources solution, in conjunction with all other Ellucian solutions.
  • Collaborate with existing Human Resources consulting resources to support continuous improvement of the consulting practice: refine delivery and engagement materials, facilitate team-wide or group presentations and knowledge-sharing activities, and participate in other team activities that drive continuous improvement of the delivery of Human Resources services.
  • Take an active role in identifying, communicating, and advancing internal process improvement suggestions/initiatives.
  • Participate in Ellucian company-wide cross-departmental initiatives as required.

What You Will Bring

  • At least 3-5 years, preferably more, experience working in field of Human Resources or Payroll for a college or university in Canada. Role(s) in a Human Resources or Payroll field should have demonstrated deep understanding of Human Resources and Payroll standards and practices at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States or abroad.
  • At least 1-2 years, preferably more, experience working in a training or consulting context (assisted in team training events, system implementation, or other collaborative learning/teaching experience).
  • Banner Human Resources is preferable.
  • Must have the ability to explain solutions to diverse customers, and ensure they are able to use applications and functionality effectively to accomplish their work.
  • This position requires enthusiasm and energy; willingness to learn and adapt quickly; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and previous experience conducting training sessions.
  • The successful candidate must be a disciplined self-starter, able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and must be able to meet or exceed deadlines for customer and internal deliverables.
  • The successful candidate must also be able to collaborate effectively and willingly and must be an engaged and interactive member of a large and very experienced team.
  • Proven ability to use appropriate skills in the areas of: project coordination, multi-tasking, prioritization of demands, conflict management, decision making tools & techniques, group discussion, training, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and time management.
  • Demonstrated experience in consulting and/or training and development; system implementation, and requirements gathering is beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with demonstrably credibility and experience in the subject matter, as well as gravitas to influence senior client stakeholders at client site and industry events.
