Role Overview
As a Data Engineer (II), you’ll play a pivotal role within our team, reporting directly to the Data Analytics Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a guardian of our modern unified data platform, ensuring efficient transformation and ingestion of data into our data warehouse. Additionally, you’ll develop frameworks and services to enhance data accessibility, while upholding stringent standards of quality, security, and reliability. Our stakeholders rely on us daily to ensure seamless data access and reliability, making your role instrumental in the success of our business.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and building pipelines for diverse data sources/destinations, while maintaining mapped schemas.
Establishing and managing core raw datasets for Machine Learning and Analytics purposes.
Implementing and enforcing privacy, compliance, and security protocols for our data assets.
Integrating core datasets into various technical systems and products across the organization.
Developing tools and processes to facilitate data operations, secure storage, and ensure reliability.
Providing technical mentorship and guidance to fellow Engineers and Analysts.
Qualifications

Experience with implementing, testing, debugging, and deploying data pipelines using a combination of tools such as Prefect, Airflow, Glue, Kafka, Serverless (Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, SNS), Fivetran, and Stitch Data/Singer.
Proficiency with at least one Cloud Data Warehousing technology, including Redshift, BigQuery, Spark, Snowflake, Presto, Athena, or S3.
Hands-on experience with SQL database administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL).
Proficiency in Python for backend and/or data pipeline development, with bonus points for contributions to open-source projects.
Familiarity with cloud operations management/configuration using tools like Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
Strong SQL skills for analytical querying and data processing.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Periscope, Tableau, and Looker.
Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of distributed processing tools such as Dask and/or Spark.
