We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with extensive expertise in OpenShift to join our team at an investment bank. As we transition from bare metal deployments to OpenShift, we require a dedicated engineer to lead the setup and configuration process from scratch. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our technology stack and driving innovation within our organization.

Responsibilities

Lead the setup and configuration of OpenShift clusters from scratch, replacing current bare metal deployments.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, design architectures, and implement best practices for OpenShift environments.

Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of OpenShift clusters through proactive monitoring, optimization, and automation.

Implement and manage monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or similar, to ensure comprehensive observability and alerting.

Troubleshoot issues related to OpenShift orchestration, storage, security, and performance, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.

Integrate tools and services into the OpenShift platform ecosystem to streamline development, deployment, and operations processes.

Manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Podman to enhance application deployment and management.

Document processes, procedures, and configurations related to OpenShift environments to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.

Stay updated with the latest features, best practices, and security vulnerabilities in OpenShift and related technologies, recommending improvements as needed.

Qualifications

6+ years of proven experience working as a DevOps engineer in a fast-paced environment.

Hands-on experience implementing and managing OpenShift clusters, preferably in a financial or enterprise environment.

Expertise in setting up OpenShift clusters from scratch, replacing bare metal deployments.

Strong scripting skills with experience in Perl, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.

Proficiency in command-line interface (CLI).

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, RunDeck, Tidal and similar.

Extensive understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and methodologies.

Experience with industry-standard DevOps tools and technologies, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker/Podman), and orchestration.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or similar.

Familiarity with configuration management tools.

Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Knowledge of container security principles and tools such as Kubernetes network policies, pod security policies, and container scanning tools.

Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence.

Familiarity with GitOps practices and principles.

Knowledge of Java
