Senior National Account Manager – Grocery

Hybrid working with Wales office

Up to £65k plus wider package

Are you a National Account Manager ready for a step up onto the largest customers in the country?

We are working with a Private Label food manufacturer that is looking to bolster the commercial team on the largest grocery accounts.

You will work with customers that have a great partnership, and your role will be to continue to harbour that relationship maximising the long history of work. You’ll join a supportive team and be nurtured through your development.

Ideally, you’ll have exposure to both Grocery and Private Label, the business is also happy to consider branded experience. This is the perfect opportunity to join an established account and drive sustainable business. The team around you are established and will offer all the support needed to continue to develop you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic relationship building – across all levels in the account portfolio externally with customers within your remit. You must be able to understand customer business strategies and develop JBPs aligned to strategic customer imperatives;
  • Commercial responsibilities – you will be responsible for defining budgets, strategies, negotiating cost-price increases and brand activities to build the brand within the customer portfolio;
  • Own-label contracting – this business operates mainly under own-label contracts as an essential business focus – securing new business and maintaining the current portfolio will be imperative for success in this role;
  • Cross-functional streamlining of internal processes – you will need to work closely with internal supply chain and marketing functions to ensure top customer service and add value to accounts;

What we’re looking for from you

  • Account management experience – you will be a proven NAM or an NAE with account responsibility, where you have had experience negotiating with senior stakeholders on national accounts;
  • Cross-functional experience – a very strong awareness of all the arms of an FMCG business, including supply chain and market analysis data;
  • Relationship builder at heart – you must have the ability to manage relationships at all levels with the business, have excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills and be a proactive starter and closer.
