We are looking for an experienced and thorough Payroll Specialist who:
- Thrives in a fast-paced, continuously improving payroll environment
- Is a proactive and results driven team player
- Has strong attention to detail, an ability to meet deadlines, and a thorough understanding of payroll procedures and relevant legislation
Key Responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly National pay runs in accordance with instructions, agreed expectations and best practice
- Performing full function payroll tasks including on-boarding, variations, increment increases, offboarding and reporting
- Interpreting Awards (Children’s Services Award and Educational Services (Teachers) Award) and employment law correctly
- STP reporting to ATO
- Payroll Tax and Superannuation reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations while staying up to date with any changes that may impact payroll procedures
- Providing exceptional customer service to our services and timely resolution of their payroll enquiries.
- Providing support to the wider team as required
- A focus on process improvement
What you’ll need:
- 3 years proven experience as a Payroll Specialist processing high-volume end-to-end full function payroll
- Knowledge of legislation/awards relating to PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and employee entitlements
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience with payroll and time and attendance systems (Micropay and Tanda desirable).
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
- Proficient computer skills and a high level of attention to detail & organisational skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written alongside a high level of integrity & confidentiality.
