Senior Product Manager Commercial Platforms (Remote)

Position Summary:

The Senior Product Manager is the lead in the development and optimization of our Shopify-based e-commerce and POS (Point of Sale) platform. The role is pivotal in shaping the online shopping experience and in-store checkout experience for our customers. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product strategy and roadmap, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and manage third party tools and vendors to optimize the platform.

This is a remote role, with a preference for New England-based candidates. The candidate will be required to travel quarterly to our headquarters in Windsor, Vermont, with more frequent visits (up to monthly) based on business needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the Shopify platform that aligns with Simon Pearces overall business goals.
• Create and maintain a prioritized product roadmap and backlog, considering potential impact, consumer and user needs, resource availability, strategic importance, and level of effort. Ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements.
• Collaborate with ecommerce, sales, planning, marketing, creative, accounting, and customer care to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver technical solutions that enable business objectives.
• Analyze data and metrics to inform product decisions, identify opportunities for improvement, and to measure the impact of product changes. Use A/B testing and other techniques to validate assumptions and optimize performance.
• Own relationship with our third party development partner, including managing resources, timelines, and budgets effectively.
• Work with external vendors and apps to leverage best-in-class technologies that enhance our Shopify platform.
• Using a customer and user-centric mindset, continuously improve CX/UX and ingest feedback to create an exceptional experience.
• Own our internal issue reporting/ticketing system, including triaging and resolving issues, training internal users on Shopify features, and escalating to Shopify and/or to our development partners to see issues through to resolution.
• Serve as the internal expert on Shopify Plus, driving adoption of new features, integrations, apps, and best practices. Stay current on Shopify updates and industry trends to take advantage of new opportunities.
• Develop SOPs and processes to streamline repeated work (e.g. new product launches and promotions), to ensure platform integrity (e.g. data, catalog, and user audits, sandbox/production alignment), and for QA as new features are implemented.

Qualifications Required:

• Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of product management or relevant functional experience, including experience with ecommerce and/or retail technology platforms
• Track record of successfully developing, maintaining, and optimizing digital products
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience in data-driven decision-making
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to communicate product requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business objectives
• Project management experience, including a track record of roadmap management, handling multiple priorities, and consistently meeting deadlines and managing development resources efficiently
• Experience with standard product development methodologies (e.g. Agile)

Qualifications Desired:

• Extensive experience with the Shopify Plus ecommerce and POS platforms, including advanced Shopify features and capabilities, as well as third party apps
• Product experience in an omni-channel retail environment
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
• Education: MBA, or Masters degree in Product Management or related field
