Job Description

We have a strong pipeline of projects in the design, development and construction of Industrial projects in Australia and overseas. These projects include bulk fuel facilities, SAF facilities, Fuel Terminal modifications, water and sewage treatment systems, wharf pipelines and various Defence facilities.   

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior SMP Designer to join our team and contribute to delivering industry-leading solutions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Director of the Industrial Group, the Senior SMP Designer will take on the following responsibilities:

• Create high-quality, industry-standard design drawings based on design engineers’ calculations and sketches.
• Ensuring drawings comply with all relevant Australian Standards
• Manage project-specific drafting setups and standards, aligning with company and client specifications.
• Review vendor drawings and design data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Meet project schedules and adhere to man-hour budgets for assigned tasks.
• Supervising project personnel as required.
• Maintain detailed progress records for drawings completed by team members under your supervision.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will bring:

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in design drafting.
• Strong proficiency in the layout and detailing of industrial plant designs.
• Previous oil & gas project experience (essential), chemicals / fuel infrastructure would be highly regarded.
• Understanding of fabrication and construction techniques in the oil & gas industry.
• Previous experience in EPC(M) projects (preferred).
• Experience with Plant3D, Advanced Steel, Prosteel preferred; other 3D software highly regarded.
• Familiarity with AS1100 standards and adherence to internal and client specifications.
