GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
In both official languages, the digital marketing program manager directs localized Canadian online marketing initiatives to grow supporter advocacy, engagement, and fundraising with direction on strategic imperatives from HSI/Canada and Friends of HSI leadership. Oversees Friends of HSI website and contributes to HSI/Canada website, as well as new and emerging media channels including social networks and paid marketing to support advocacy engagement and fundraising efforts. Contributes to strategic digital marketing direction for multiple programs within our Canadian entities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage all activities necessary to run HSI Canada and Friends of HSI localized digital communications and expand our online presence including digital marketing programs, web presence, localized social media, and other on-line needs and opportunities as appropriate. (20%)
2. Develop integrated localized marketing campaign strategies — via social media, web, paid digital acquisition – to raise funds, empower advocates, expand our supporter base, support program goals, and cultivate supporters. (10%)
3. Oversee and develop localized and streamlined content management processes for digital marketing efforts. (5%)
4. Perform industry scans and monitors research related to digital marketing, advocacy and communications to inform and enhance localized Canadian campaigns. (5%)
5. Manage external vendors and relationships in support of the overall effectiveness of localized digital operations. (5%)
6. Manage brand and ensuring consistent messaging across all digital channels, while collaborating closely with the Branding, Photography, and Video departments. (10%)
7. Manage and optimize localized paid advertising campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and the Meta Business Suite. (10%)
8. Manage the digital acquisition budget, allocating resources effectively across various channels and campaigns. (5%)
9. Build out our feature video capabilities by producing high-caliber video content and managing the end-to-end process of video production for social media and fundraising purposes. (10%)
10. Creation of digital content including share graphics and posts for dissemination through web and multiple social media channels for HSI Canada and Friends of HSI. (10%)
11. Analysis and reporting of digital marketing efforts including reach and impact. (5%)
12. Other duties as assigned. (5%)
PERIPHERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sourcing of new digital vendors and partners.
- Regular scanning of the NGO digital landscape in Canada and re-consideration of goals and approach.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least five (5) years’ experience in digital marketing, communications or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree in communications or comparable work experience.
- Strong background in the Canadian NGO digital communications environment.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- The ability to build and foster relationships by reinforcing trust and respect, and demonstrating high standards of tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Excellent written, graphic and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills with demonstrated flexibility and the ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities and issues of varying complexity, while meeting time sensitive deadlines and deliverables.
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a team environment.
- Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours on occasion.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required
