Job Description

What you will be doing

• Work with cutting-edge technologies (Go, Kubernetes, Prometheus) to build our products like Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform
• Integrate different provider like AWS, Azure, GCP, Openstack into our platform
• Create E2E test and automate workflows for CI/CD
• Build the infrastructure behind high-availability services
• Design and implement new services and features
• Contribute your knowledge in roadmap and feature discussions
• Develop features and improvements to the Kubermatic product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Advocate for improvements to the product
• Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment; maintain and advocate for these standards through code review
• Recognize impediments to our efficiency as a team (“technical debt”), propose and implement solutions
• Represent Kubermatic and its values in public communication around specific projects and community contributions
• Confidently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members; collaborate with the team on larger projects

Qualifications

What we are looking for

• You demonstrate skills in software development, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Python, or Java
• You have experience in Kubernetes controllers and operators development
• You have a practical understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with experience in tools like Terraform or Crossplane
• You are comfortable with distributed systems, container technologies, Kubernetes and the cloud native stack
• You value pragmatism and result-oriented team and project work
• You have demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
• You have strong coding skills and experience in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code for cloud infrastructure tasks
• You have a very good command of English
• Nice to have (one or more):
  • Experience in Kubernetes API internals and KCP
  • Experience in Software Defined Networking
