Our client is a fast-growing web developing company, focused on creating eCommerce solutions for clients in the furnishings and real estate niche. They are composed of an interdisciplinary mix of strategy, creative, UX design, visual design, creative technologies, and engineering teams. Their engineering team boldly combines bleeding-edge technology with their core solutions thus providing work flexibility and creating space for their creatives and developers to showcase their ideas and capabilities to the fullest. As Adobe partners, they use Magento as the backbone for their solutions and build front end solutions for React.js technologies.
SALARY: $100,000 USD PLUS BONUS (OTE: $120,000 USD)
PURPOSE
The purpose of a Product Owner is to define and prioritize project requirements, manage the product backlog, and ensure alignment with client expectations. As the main liaison between clients and the development team, the Product Owner maximizes product value by guiding the team through Agile processes, facilitating communication, and refining the product based on feedback and performance metrics.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Client Satisfaction: Ensure client satisfaction by understanding their needs, aligning product deliverables with their goals, and maintaining proactive communication throughout the product development lifecycle.
Product Success: Take ownership of product outcomes and drive success by delivering features and improvements on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards, ultimately exceeding client expectations. Backlog Management: Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog to ensure that the most valuable features are delivered first, optimizing the impact and value of the product.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the development team, fostering collaboration and ensuring high performance and morale.
Strategic Direction: Drive strategic direction for the product, aligning with client objectives and company goals and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and team members, fostering trust, transparency, and collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Satisfaction:
- Understand client needs and ensure project requirements are aligned with their goals.
- Maintain proactive and clear communication with clients throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Gather and incorporate client feedback to continuously improve the product.
Product Success:
- Take ownership of product outcomes and ensure timely delivery of features and improvements.
- Monitor and control project scope, budget, and timelines to meet quality standards.
- Exceed client expectations by delivering high-value features and addressing any issues promptly.
Backlog Management:
- Define and prioritize the product backlog to focus on delivering the most valuable features first.
- Regularly refine and adjust the backlog based on feedback, changing requirements, and performance metrics.
- Ensure that user stories and acceptance criteria are clear and well-understood by the development team
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to the development team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Encourage continuous improvement and high performance within the team.
Strategic Direction:
- Drive the strategic direction of the product, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company goals.
- Identify opportunities for product growth, innovation, and improvement.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines key milestones and deliverables.
Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and team members.
- Foster trust, transparency, and open communication across all parties involved.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related matters, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in agency web development.
- 2+ years of experience in a Product Owner role.
- Experience in working within a SAFe Agile framework.
- Experience using project management tools like Jira or ClickUp for managing product roadmaps.
- Familiarity with the web development life cycle (WDLC) processes and methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
- Experience with Adobe e-commerce platform and development.
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including military personnel, government agencies, and contractors.
- Strong skills in prioritizing and managing a product backlog.
- Proficiency in making data-driven decisions and driving product delivery to achieve mission objectives.
- Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification
