What You’ll Do (responsibilities)
- Define and lead the R&D organization’s long-term Jira strategy, including serving as a Jira architect driving engagement, rollout, and enablement of optimized workflows, configurations, and dashboards
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of the Jira Transformation and Governance program portfolio to establish standardized, scalable, and efficient Jira usage across the R&D organization.
- Partner with the external consultancy group and internal teams to develop a strategic roadmap, and implement recommendations for Jira optimization.
- Create and operationalize a governance model to maintain process consistency, support continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Develop and implement the change management and enablement strategy, training programs, and communication plans to drive adoption of improved Jira practices and tools.
- Produce process documentation, training materials, and knowledge hubs to support sustained adoption and a smooth transition to enhanced Jira practices.
- Track engagement metrics, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with key organizational objectives and performance KPIs.
- Serve as a coach and mentor to our TPM team.
What You’ll Need (basic Qualifications)
- Proven track record as a Staff TPM or similar, with a focus on large-scale program transformations within engineering organizations.
- Advanced proficiency in Jira administration, automation, data analysis and reporting, and configuration of workflows and dashboards, with knowledge of related tools like Confluence and Jira Align to support cross-platform solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing enterprise-level Jira implementations, governance models, and optimization projects, ideally within organizations of comparable size and complexity.
- A solid understanding of product and software development principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Experience in driving cultural change and promoting continuous improvement through structured enablement and training strategies.
- Strong analytical skills, a second-order thinker who can evaluate alternatives, and make data-driven decisions.
- Expertise in building and maintaining knowledge management systems to support centralized documentation and training resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels with compelling narratives and a collaborative approach.
- Skilled at navigating ambiguity with a strong bias for action and delivering measurable results.
- Experience working with global or distributed teams, demonstrating effectiveness across time zones and diverse cultural settings.
What’s Nice To Have (preferred Qualifications)
- Change management certifications like PROSCI or ACMP, showcasing expertise in driving organizational change and adoption.
- Familiarity with SaaS or multi-cloud product environments, providing context for technical and operational challenges.
- Knowledge of additional Atlassian tools, such as Jira Product Discovery, Jira Align, Confluence, and Trello.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau, Sigma or Power BI.
- A technical background or scripting experience for advanced Jira automation and API integrations.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and incident management workflows.

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$204,000—$240,000 USD
Role
The base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:
$187,000—$220,000 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$170,000—$200,000 USD
