Position Overview:
We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager – Partners, who will play a key role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy for our National Express Freight Business. You will be responsible for managing key relationships, driving growth through new business opportunities, and optimizing commercial performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the transport or logistics industry, with strong business acumen and the ability to negotiate and manage high-value contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Develop and implement the commercial strategy to support business growth and profitability.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including tendering, partnerships, and client negotiations.
- Lead the negotiation and management of commercial contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with business goals and operational capacity.
- Provide market analysis and competitive intelligence to inform business decisions and strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as operations and finance, to ensure seamless delivery of services and contract execution.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
- Prepare and present commercial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Manage budgets and ensure the profitability of projects and contracts.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior commercial management role within the transport, logistics, or supply chain sectors.
- Strong understanding of the transport industry, market trends, and customer needs.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence to take raw data to report performance, identify opportunity and provide historical analysis / trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
