Overview
This role is within our Insights and Analytics team – a team of analytics and research professionals supporting our clients leveraging their data investment.
As Strategist, Insights & Analytics, you will work closely with clients and internal client teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data (1st party, research, and syndicated) and analytics to enhance marketing success and customer understanding. As part of the Insights & Analytics team, you will be responsible for driving strategic recommendations and deliverables for existing clients and prospects and developing and sharing your subject matter expertise.
This role hasconsultative and hands-on execution responsibilities,working with SHIFT and client teams to formulate hypotheses, investigate data, make recommendations,andbuild roadmaps focusing on data and insights. As a consulting team member, you will develop requirements and support the definition of solutions.
You can simultaneously work comfortably in the weeds without losing sight of the big picture. You are a consultative strategic individual who is comfortable in a fast-paced agency environment. Our ideal candidate should be strategic, structured, technically minded, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and driven to get the work done. This is a role requiring collaboration throughout the organization to move initiatives forward.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in discussions with clients and internal teams, identifying ways to solve their business problems
- Act as a consulting resource for client teams
- Accountable for defining project deliverables, milestones, and timelines and managing overall project delivery, including final polished deliverables – in conjunction with Client Success and Project managers
- Maintain positive client relationships through commitment to high-quality work and proactive strategic initiatives
- Develop new ways of looking at information to develop customer profiles, answer business questions, and develop insights
- Lead and contribute to projects which could include:
- Developing project methodology
- Transforming vast data sets into compelling and actionable insights
- Mining data to develop predictive models using regression analysis, cluster analysis, and other statistical methods of analysis,
- Designing and developing dashboarding and reporting solutions
- Leading team members in the development of analytics
- Leading or supporting analytic roadmaps and assessments
- Fully understand our client’s marketing goals to generate and communicate clear, compelling, and actionable insights
- Gather and interpret data through various analytic tools and third-party platforms (e.g., Census, Pew Research, and demographic trend data)
- Share best practices with clients, peers, and team members and become a trusted advisor
- Respond proactively to requests from clients and internal teams
Qualifications
- Deep technical background with BA/BS in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Information Management, Social Science, or Business/Marketing related fields (Masters or higher preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience in Analytics, with 3+ years of Marketing Analytics preferred
- 1+ years in a consulting environment
- Self-driven independent thinker with a strong desire to learn and grow, with a passion for more than personal success
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Strong understanding of marketing, sales metrics, and reporting
- Technically proficient with statistical packages, data manipulation, and open-source tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, R, etc
- Experience with data warehouses and ETL, data lake development, and thorough understanding of relational databases and how to work with them – as well as a deep knowledge of Marketing Technology (ESPs, CDP, etc) and the data available from it
- Advanced knowledge of BI/visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, etc
- Ability to clearly explain complex technical ideas both verbally and in writing
- Strong desire to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with other departments, building relationships across the organization
- An understanding and keen curiosity about the role AI and machine learning can play
- Proficient in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (G-Suite) tools
The position is open to qualified individuals either in the US or Canada. This is a remote position.
