About the Opportunity

Questas Group is excited to unveil our new internal Technical Services Group (TSG), which will be a centralised hub of technical expertise designed to support and enhance the capabilities of our trades, engineers, sales, and product support teams across the organisation.

The TSG will play a pivotal role in accelerating our growth, fostering synergies and delivering exceptional technical solutions faster than ever before.

As the Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to play a critical role in establishing the TSG within Questas Group’s diverse operations and driving the integration of technical knowledge across our organisation.

You will be pivotal in shaping our training programs, enhancing customer service excellence, and ensuring swift and effective knowledge collaboration.

You will be a key member of the leadership team and will directly influence the success of our technical teams and the overall growth trajectory of the TSG.

The role can be based anywhere in Australia.

Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, a selection of your responsibilities will include:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical support and leadership within TSG.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Proposal Review: Collaborate with estimation teams on proposals and product applications.
• Design & Planning Review: Work on design reviews, schedules, and component selection.
• Employee Training: Develop and deliver training for Questas business units.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure personal and team safety, compliance and a safe work environment.
• Continuous Improvement: Support the TSG Manager in improving functions and systems.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

• Extensive industry experience in fluid power/fluid handling with exposure to industrial, mining and/or oil & gas industries.
• Qualifications such as a Bachelor of Engineering or a Trade Qualification.
• Capacity to develop relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Project/job delivery expertise.
• Able to think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development challenges.
• Motivated to maintain high level technical competence and quality.
• Able to interpret and keep up to date with legislation, regulations and procedures.
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet timeframes within a project management framework.
• Excellent communications skills.
