Position: Technical Project Manager – Development & Support Projects

Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience

Location: Remote working

Engagement: Full-time consulting opportunity with a US-based client

Commitment: 8 hours per day, with at least 6 hours overlapping with CST

Shift Timing: 5 pm to 1 am

Duration: Minimum one-year engagement on an hourly rate basis

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee and drive both development and support projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions, ensuring timely execution, and maintaining project alignment with business goals. This role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, from development to ongoing support, with a focus on SLA management and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

 • Manage end-to-end development and support projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

 • Collaborate with development, testing, and support teams to plan, execute, and monitor projects, balancing resources and priorities.

 • Oversee project scope, budget, timelines, and risks, ensuring alignment with business requirements and goals.

 • Track project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

 • Ensure effective SLA management for support projects, ensuring compliance with agreed service levels and client expectations.

 • Lead cross-functional teams including developers, testers, support engineers, and business analysts to ensure seamless project execution.

 • Conduct regular project meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and roadblocks.

 • Oversee post-deployment support processes, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and continuous system improvements.

 • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.

 • Ensure proper documentation and technical specifications are created and maintained for all projects.

 • Coordinate with external stakeholders, vendors, and clients as needed to ensure successful project delivery.

 • Implement and maintain Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices to ensure continuous delivery of projects.

 • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for improvement in development processes and support operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

 • 10+ years of experience in managing both development and support projects.

 • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT support processes.

 • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, Trello, or similar.

 • Proven experience managing SLA-driven support projects, with a strong focus on incident, problem, and change management.

 • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and demonstrated experience in leading Agile teams.

 • Solid technical background with an understanding of software development (coding/testing) and support operations.

 • Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, including risk management, resource planning, and budgeting.

 • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and external clients.

 • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while ensuring high-quality delivery.

 • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

 • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.

 • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS is a plus.

 • Experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.

 • Previous experience managing remote and distributed teams is an advantage.

Education:

  •  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
