Forum One is looking for a WordPress Developer to help support our portfolio of nonprofit & government organizations within our Support Services team.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate in the development of websites and web-based applications.
• Build high-quality, accessible, and performant solutions that follow industry best practices by writing modular and maintainable PHP, TWIG, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Write custom plugins for WordPress.
• Recommend and oversee the implementation and configuration of existing WordPress plugins.
• Assess and improve existing websites code quality, accessibility, performance and technical debt.
• Evangelize best practices for WordPress and open source development.
• Participate in requirements gathering and solutions architecture for individual site features.
• Contribute to internal and open source tools, reusable code, code accelerators, and starter kits.

What you bring to the table:

• You’ve been working with WordPress for a few years now, and can customize, troubleshoot and improve WordPress functionality through code, outside of the admin ui.
• 3+ years of WordPress development experience including writing custom themes and plugins.
• Experience working on a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache/Nginx, MySQL, and PHP).
• Excellent knowledge of writing custom WordPress plugins with PHP.
• Experience writing modern JavaScript, and familiarity with a front-end framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Familiarity with version control and Git.
• Experience with Agile software development methodology.
• A technical mindset with great attention to detail.
• A desire to continually learn new technologies, techniques, and tools.

What would be nice:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant experience
• Experience with other Content Management Systems such as Drupal, Contentful, Webflow and Strapi
• Knowledge of accessibility, WCAG standards, and ARIA
• Experience with DevOps applications and CI/CD tools
• Experience working in an agency or consulting environment
• Community participation in open source projects.
