I am a Zimbabwean who has seen and gone through one of the worst economic and socio-environment known to man. I learnt at an early age the importance of working hard and thinking outside the box to survive. I ran a small little business at my high school at the age of 16. I sold old second-hand textbooks for students who had difficulty finding certain course work materials for their classes due to the situation in our country. At 18 once l finished high school l applied to be a customer service representative for a big telecommunications company Econet. I understood how critical it was for one to get experience under their belt to become a more marketable individual. There, l worked for 1 year and 9 months before l went to university, the money l gained from working helped to pay for my accommodation and flight, and a portion of my fees.

I studied Human Resources Management because l wanted to help people find jobs, that was my main goal. It was at university where l got to learn more about HR and the various ways it impacts companies and stakeholders and the community at large. I knew this was my calling because l wanted to be someone who helps companies grow and in turn help people find jobs and be able to provide for their families.

Unfortunately, Cyprus was not a place to add some HR experience under my belt as most companies were family-run businesses. Thus l had to resort to thinking outside the box to gain some experience in the field of HR. I looked for remote opportunities online and was fortunate enough to land some great gigs that really helped boost my resume. Now that l am back in my home country and with a situation still dire, l am looking for remote opportunities to not only continue to gain experience and to bring hard work and determination to companies, but l am also hoping to find opportunities that can help me and my family have a stable life.
