I am a Canadian who has been 'nomadic' for the past year, based primarily in Thailand. I stumbled into this way of work-life in 2017 after my brand new role with a small UK start-up was made redundant. Instead of defeat, I saw it as an opportunity to start fresh and leave Dubai, where I had been based for the previous 7+ years. I bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok and never looked back!
Over the past year I have put myself through a masters degree of my own making: learning and up-skilling in various aspects of marketing, advertising, design, and online business management.
As you will see from my CV I was an international teacher and then an account manager for a global publisher. Both of these roles have provided me with skills and experience that have helped me immensely in working online and remotely. From teaching I have brought with me the ability to effectively organise and deliver concepts and information, attention to detail and the ability not to sweat the small stuff (kids!). My role as an account manager taught me how to deftly manage various types of clients, their expectations and requirements. I learned how to succinctly communicate both in writing and verbally, tailoring my style to match the clients' preferred communication style, guiding clients through processes while delivering top notch customer service.
