I grew up in southern USA with a passion for education. I just KNEW I wanted to teach one day. When I began college in 2011 I intended on getting a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in child development. I have such a strong passion to learn about children and how they process information, how they learn. Play is such an important part of a child's life, and I believe that should be encouraged constantly. Unfortunately I had to take a break from attending classes on campus, but I still wanted a degree! Luckily my college, Mississippi State University, actually has a program that allows students to obtain a bachelor's degree online. And let me tell you something, just because it's online doesn't mean it is easy! Child development wasn't an option when choosing my online degree, so I chose Interdisciplinary Studies. It's a B.S. with an emphasis in Business, Education, and Communications. Essentially, I took all of the upper-level courses for each of those concentrations. It took time, and it took a lot of hard work. But being able to graduate with a degree that allows me to explore my interests of educating children, entrepreneurship, and media marketing meant a lot. I've always been passionate about learning new things, so even though college is done, I will still learn what I can! I've started taking courses in SEO, computer science, and Google AdWords, but I might just add in some basket-weaving, too! ?
