I’m excited about the changing landscape in the workplace driven by technology innovations, impact of remote work and culture of continuous learning. It is important to me to be connected to my local community and create a positive impact. I have launched awesome organizations and programs like Bike Walk Greenville, Women Who Code Greenville and SC Codes Greenville.

Already passionate about building communities and creating meaningful experiences, at 8-years-old I launched the Ladybug Club (remember Ranger Rick clubs for kids?) with serious concern that I provide good value for the 10-cent monthly dues investment. After years of growing engagement I have lots of advice I would give my younger self now!

I discovered my entrepreneurial streak when I started my first small businesses in Long Beach. As the business partner that came up with creative ideas to launch, I loved learning the business strategies and technology skills to make them happen. My commitment to business goals showed up when I was a college student managing the performing arts series concession stand and discovered I was the first one to make it profitable.

In the SC Codes pilot program, I tackled the gap in options for adults learning software development skills. Although motivated to offer flexible options that would benefit women, I was excited that the solutions we developed with the Greenville County Library System created a pathway for all adults. The program leveraged existing open source curriculum, community partnerships and volunteer mentors creating the structure and support that increased student engagement and success rates.
