About The Role

In your role within the Early Market Validation research team at Fortis Games, you’ll play a crucial role in guiding our development teams and shaping our portfolio strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver actionable insights through both ad-hoc and comprehensive market research. We value independent execution of market analyses, which are pivotal in supporting our early market validation framework, exploring M&A opportunities, and refining our overall portfolio strategy. Your insights will not only illuminate trends and patterns within the gaming industry but also span across associated platforms in distribution and marketing, providing a comprehensive view that drives our decision-making processes

What You’ll Achieve

  • Lead comprehensive market research projects, analyzing trends, competitors, and new opportunities in the gaming industry. This research directly informs and shapes our strategic direction, ensuring we stay ahead of the market and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of the competitive environment, pinpointing key industry players and dissecting their strategies, strengths, and weaknesses providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team to identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets. Your analysis will be instrumental in understanding how these acquisitions align with our portfolio and the broader market impact they may bring
  • Assist in the development and execution of portfolio management strategies by continuously monitoring market dynamics and identifying opportunities for growth, optimization, or divestment.
  • Translate complex market data into digestible, actionable insights. Your reports to stakeholders will be key in driving informed decision-making, bridging the gap between data and strategic action.
  • Monitor industry trends, consumer behaviors, and technological advancements to anticipate market shifts and enable Fortis to adapt strategies accordingly.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for gaming and a proven track record in market analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills, with expertise in data collection, interpretation, presentation and a proactive approach to identifying market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Proficiency in utilizing market research tools, databases, and analytics software.
  • Familiarity with M&A processes and portfolio management is a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Degree in psychology, HCI, social sciences or business
  • 3+ years of experience in market research, preferably within the gaming or entertainment industry.
