JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager is a senior contributor with the primary responsibility of developing customer partnerships and business pursuit at the target Industrial verticals to meet sales strategies & drive profitable sales growth. This individual will be responsible identifying and establishing close relationships with customers’ decision makers and influencers in Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management at the corporate level, as well as at the individual influencers at the site level. The Business Development Manager will drive new market penetration, project pursuit strategies, and professional networking in the pursuit of strategic growth. These actions will be supported with sales excellence tools of pipeline management & value selling techniques. This individual will work closely with our Industrial VP/GM, Regional Sales Managers, Customer Service and Product Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Business Development: Using structured process to ensure better brand recognition partnerships with key accounts in targeted verticals. This will include cross-functional reviews to ensure alignment. Developing broad & deep relationships with customers Engineers & key decision makers using relationship maps. Developing champions will be critical to the success of this role.
· Execution: Manages the execution of our key account sales strategies to meet customer needs, develop a strong opportunity pipeline & profitable sales growth.
· Team leadership: Fosters a high performance culture within the supporting team of Product management, Engineering & customer support, to help drive project priorities with trust and respect.
· Opportunity management: Ensures strong funnel management, follows the sales process for data entry, control, next steps & review cadence to increase our win ratio. Maintain and capture all relevant data in our CRM system (SFDC).
· Process excellence: Deploys strategic business development process to gain alignment & buy in with key potential customers plus look for transactional improvement to help simplify the sales process. Identifying opportunities specifically on product modification on larger scale using our product modification process.
· Communication: Deliver clear and concise communications to large customers, keeping them informed of the business progress on agreed plans & strategies plus support weekly & monthly reports back in to Barksdale.
· Planning: Participate in the preparation of regional & corporate business plans aligning regional & national sales tactics, targets and resource accordingly
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or Business.
· 15 or more years of sales experience, proven track record of developing larger accounts
· 10 years or more direct OEM selling or Key account selling/management in Industrial market
· Multi years of experience in understanding technical requirements/needs of the customers, developing a technical concept solution and translating the customer need and concept to Engineering.
· Understands a multi-channel ‘channel neutral’ sales strategy that includes key accounts
· Deliver strong personal value to key accounts being seen as the expert of our products in industrial applications.
· Understands & has sold into the Industrial end customer influenced specification projects & the bid process
· Industrial product and application knowledge
· Expertise in value add selling & managing complex opportunities through a team.
· Experience in leading, being led and working with peer group team members
· Understands the importance of driving continuous improvement and lean processes
· Must have strong interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills
· Must be proficient at: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & CRM software (SFDC)
COMPENSATION
Salary range: $114,600-$138,000 + 25% commission. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs”
