Role Overview
Are you a seasoned project manager with a passion for team leadership and technology? We are seeking a Manager for our Ubuntu Enablement Project Management team. In this role, you will oversee a diverse group of project managers driving the delivery of Ubuntu on a wide array of hardware, collaborating with industry giants like Intel, Nvidia, Dell, and ASUS, among others. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our projects and fostering strong relationships with customers and partners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team of project managers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Collaborate with sales teams to capitalize on new opportunities and drive project success.
Champion best-in-class project management practices, continuously seeking ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Evaluate project management tools and processes to ensure optimal performance.
Drive resource planning efforts, identifying and addressing gaps to maximize team productivity.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for project reporting and monitor progress across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional leads to address common challenges and drive execution excellence.
Serve as a customer escalation point and trusted advisor to company leadership, ensuring customer success.
Requirements
Proven experience leading diverse, remote project teams in a technology-driven environment.
Strong background in software engineering project management and delivery.
Demonstrated success in managing complex, cross-cultural projects with a global footprint.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
Flexibility to travel internationally as needed (approximately 4-6 weeks per year).
Certification in project management (PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 practitioner).
Additional Skills (Preferred)
Experience in hardware enablement and delivery of commercial software technology projects to device manufacturers.
Familiarity with Linux and the broader open-source software community.
Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
Background in embedded device/IoT software development or automotive industry standards.
