Job Title: Software Development Engineer II – Backend

Location: Bangalore/Remote

Role Overview: As a Software Development Engineer II – Backend at Scrut Automation, you’ll be an integral part of our Engineering Team, contributing to the development of our information security and compliance monitoring platform. We’re seeking an innovative individual with a strong foundation in server-side development, particularly with Node.js and related technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. Your role will involve building reusable code and libraries, optimizing applications for speed and scalability, and defining technical and design requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop server-side logic using Node.js and Express, prioritizing performance and responsiveness.
Create clean, maintainable, efficient and reusable code and libraries for future use. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Define and communicate technical and design requirements.
Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
3-5 years of experience in server-side development using Node.js with Express, and familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB.
Proficiency in asynchronous programming concepts.
Basic understanding of AWS services and CI/CD tools.
Experience with our current tech stack (Node.js, Express, Next.js, React, DynamoDB) is a plus.
